The WDVX Blue Plate Special – 7/21 – Noah Gabriel / Dyer Davis
July 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Noah Gray is an American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and producer. His music is characterized by confessional, personal songwriting conveyed through a chameleonic, genre-bending production style. From the 80’s synth pop of cut you off, to the ethereal folk found in flowers, to hip-hop and R&B influenced cuts like leavemealone and pressure, Noah utilizes music as a medium to convey a bigger story.
His debut album, fluorescent, was released on July 28th, 2023. Following a linear, fictional story, the self-written and produced album is a concept album based around the aesthetic of New York nightlife. Sonically, the album is a love letter to mid-2010’s alternative pop, similar to the stylings of Lorde, Halsey, the 1975, PVRIS, Hayley Kiyoko, Troye Sivan, Lana Del Rey, and more.
Dyer Davis is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his electrifying performances and a sound deeply rooted in southern blues rock. Davis’ powerful debut album; “Dog Bites Back”, debuted at #6 in the Billboard Blues Charts and was praised by Downbeat Magazine who stated “Dyer Davis brings new immediacy to blues and blues-rock by singing as if he were probing a deep recess within him. His album jumps him to the front row of the most promising young up-and-comers.”
