The WDVX Blue Plate Special — 6/3 — Millie Rochelle / Brian Elder

June 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

At just sixteen, Millie Rochelle is an East Tennessee singer-songwriter blending Americana and indie pop with haunting vocals and honest, emotional storytelling. Drawing inspiration from Appalachian roots and modern indie influences, her music captures the quiet intensity of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery.

With a voice that feels both delicate and powerful, Millie writes songs that are deeply personal yet universally relatable. Her storytelling-driven approach and stripped-back arrangements allow emotion to take center stage, creating music that feels intimate, reflective, and timeless. As an emerging artist, Millie continues to carve out her own sound—one rooted in authenticity, vulnerability, and a love for meaningful songwriting.

Brian Elder is a recording artist, songwriter, and worship leader who lived out the message written in Joshua 1:9, by saying “yes” when God asked him to move several states away in a moment’s notice to follow a call to ministry.

Raised in Virginia, Brian grew up with a love for music. While he gained experience performing and opening for several bands including Brett Michaels and Papa Roach, he felt something was missing. After several years in the industry, he decided to give music up for good. He packed up his guitar, and began working in film. God, however, had different plans.

In 2019, When Elder began to battle depression and anxiety, he cried out to God begging for purpose. God led him back to his guitar. With a new faith-fueled passion, Elder began writing songs of worship, drawing from his experience and the power of God’s presence in his life.

Opportunities opened for Brian to perform in various locations from coffee shops, churches, and a prison ministry tour, to large stages in front of thousands, in addition to leading worship. Robert McTurnal, the Lead Pastor-BridgePoint Church is quoted as saying, Brian’s music “cuts through the distracting noise of the world and brings his audience to a place of reverent introspection.”
