Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Eli began his deep interest in music at the age of 12 when he was introduced to artists like Alison Krauss, Old Crow Medicine Show and John Prine by his older brother. At this time Eli began playing the banjo and became deeply interested in music and roots music in particular. He became extremely interested in artists like these and in particularly Woody Guthrie, while always exploring new music. He was aware of WDVX but only to an extent. He became involved with WDVX in 8th grade when completing a service project for his middle school. Eli chose to host a benefit concert at his school to benefit WDVX and ended up raising over 500 dollars. After that he wanted only to become more involved with the station and began volunteering there on a weekly basis. Since then, Eli has been volunteering for the last 3 years and has recently started filling in as a DJ. Eli hopes to continue his involvement with his favorite station WDVX as long as the world will allow him.
