An Extra Helping of the Blue Plate Special – Guy Marshall “I Don’t Try”

Guy Marshall is an Americana band from right here in East Tennessee made up of husband and wife team Adam and Serrenna McNulty. They have been performing together since 2011 and regularly perform as a full band with a cast of talented friends. Just for the record, there is no one named Guy Marshall in the band – Guy Marshall was Adam McNulty’s grandfather. According to one reviewer, “Guy Marshall’s life inspires much of the material for Adam’s Appalachian folk music. Beyond the man himself, the music conveys the atmosphere of Marshall’s region and is fueled by the work ethic of a bygone era.” Their 2015 debut album is called “The Depression Blues”, and much to the delight of the Blue Plate Special audience, Guy Marshall introduced a couple of brand new tunes, including this one, “I Don’t Try”. Helping out on fiddle is another talented East Tennessee musician, Frank Bronson. Find out lots more about Guy Marshall at
