I love so many different kinds of music – jazz, rock, blues, folk, pop, gospel, country, classical, indy, and techno. I can’t say I have a favorite genre. They all touch me and move me in different ways. I want to learn and feel the lyrics and melody of others and let them become part of me and then I want to share them with you. I want you to feel what I feel. And I feel so much, that I have to write my own songs. Songs that are precious gifts – stories of life, fiction and fantasy, songs of emotions – joy or sorrow, ease or struggle. And sometimes as I write, I wonder how does a song become a song? How do concepts and ideas come together to form poetic lyrics? And how do patterns of high and low pitches meetup to become a melody? I often think there is a heavenly carousel of musical elements spinning round and round waiting for someone to take a handful and nurture them into a song. I’m so grateful that I took the chance and reached up to grab some of those elements. I’m grateful to be a singer/songwriter. But mostly I’m grateful to have met so many wonderful people on this musical journey. People that have touched me, and taught me, and shown me how to love! I hope that you enjoy my music and that my songs move you to feel……….
