The two have come together in music and are hailed as some of the most compelling musicians making country roots music in America today. When these two sing together\, their honest incantations leave us spell-bound and smiling. \nTheir repertoire is made up of original songs and tunes as well as gems from American roots repertoires\, and the music they make is Americana in the truest sense of the word. Music is clearly in their blood. Caleb and Reeb’s originals and interpretations of songs have been covered and recorded by many performers and their musical presence reaches into a diverse and loyal fanbase\, giving creedance to the impact that this duo has on their listeners. Their fans exude admiration for the timeless sound that these two produce\, capturing the essence of American roots music. \nSometimes we get so unnecessarily swept up in who’s rising and falling in music these days that the sheer joy of music is overlooked. One of the great things about Caleb and Reeb is that they are a world apart from all of that nonsense and let you immerse yourself in the melody and story of classic sounding country music until all other cares of life fade away. Country music is the music of working people who use it to pass the time and forget about the ever-present hardships in their lives. After years of touring together\, Reeb and Caleb work intuitively. \nCaleb’s study and understanding of roots music is so dedicated and rich\, that he can hauntingly immerse himself in the same perspective of those old primitive country composers and write as if he was right beside them. Their album Innocent Road includes a clutch of lovingly arranged Klauder originals\, along with well-placed and rare covers. The pair bring the spirit of legendary country duos into their contemporary takes on country music. Trading vocals back and forth\, they complement each other strikingly well in an attractive meld of honky-tonk that brushes shoulders with trad bluegrass. Caleb has penned over 50 songs many of which are standards across America in honky tonk and bluegrass jams and festivals\, both on and off stage. There is a long list of bands and singers who have recorded Caleb’s songs over the years. \nThe blend of true harmonies\, the sharply-written country songs\, and the un-showy authenticity strike a rich vein that makes them seem like they are born and raised in Music City. DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in rural central Illinois\, David Singley is a singer- songwriter- guitarist living in Saint Paul\, Minnesota\, whose music is born of the street\, the country\, and the academy. An experienced veteran with decades of backing world-class artists and performers\, he has recently joined the “Great Resignation” and set his sights on his own artistic pursuits. His music evokes the golden era of the singer-songwriter: the late ’60’s and early-to-mid ’70’s; with its chameleonic stylistic twists and turns\, as well as its memorable melodies and insightful\, poetic lyrics. His music expresses a point-of-view that is at once highly personal and triumphantly global. His voice evokes traces of many of his influences: James Taylor\, Gordon Lightfoot\, Jim Croce\, Jackson Browne\, Dan Fogelberg\, and many others. His guitar playing is at once highly focused and passionate\, impressive yet always absolutely appropriate to the song at hand. \nHis 2021 album\, The Long\, Slow Fuse of Night\, as well as his last seven singles\, have all charted on Americana radio and have received substantial notice on YouTube. His next album\, Fools & Mystics\, is set for an April\, 2024 release\, and the first new single from that album\, “Paradise\,” is set to drop on February 27\, 2024. Follow up singles “Cartoon Heart\,” and “Don’t Worry ‘Bout Mama No More\,” are set for Spring and Summer\, 2024 releases. \n \nKruger shares a style that recalls many of his earliest folk music influences\, among them\, Peter\, Paul and Mary\, Simon & Garfunkel\, Gordon Lightfoot\, John Denver and James Taylor in particular. \nHe’s toured nationally\, sharing his “Folk Legend’s Tribute Show” at house concerts\, libraries\, conservation events\, coffee houses\, corporate functions and larger auditoriums in addition to appearances at a number of Nashville venues. \nFour of his songs were featured in the films\, “God Where Are You” and “Grace Of The Father.” In addition\, he played the part of Noel Paul Stookey in the nationally touring Las Vegas tribute group\, “Peter Paul & Mary Alive\,” for several years. \nKruger\, who performs regularly in East Tennessee at The Smoky Mountain Brewery\, The Listening Room Cafe\, Calhoun’s\, and The Abbey\, said he’s been playing music over 50 years. “Music can convey emotion on so many levels\,” he said. “Music does that for me. Having toured with most all of the original architects of the Outlaw Country and Southern Rock movements respectively\, Dallas Moore is the real deal. Turning their influence into inspiration and bridging the gap between the founding fathers of the genre and creating music for a new generation of Honky Tonk Heroes. \nNo God in Juarez\, street date June 2nd\, 2023\, features 10 songs of Moore’s original Honky Tonk Hero Billie Gant. \nOver 20 years in the making\, Moore describes this album as “A Labor of Love” as he has had the concept of doing an entire album of songs written by Gant and telling his story to the world through his songs since the early 2000’s. According to Moore\, Billie Gant was the first artist to become a hero\, champion\, friend and lifelong influence and inspiration to him when he was in the very beginning stages of his career. At the time\, in the late 80’s and early 90’s\, Gant was developing a reputation as the most charismatic entertainer in Country Music touring with the likes of Johnny Paycheck\, Hank Williams Jr\, David Allen Coe and Ernest Tubb\, often stealing the show from his own legendary heroes. \nAt the height of his career Billie Gant was involved in an automobile accident that left him in a coma for an extended period followed by an even longer period of time rehabilitating and literally coming back from the brink of death. “Something happened to Billie during his time away from the music while he was healing from his injuries and he became such a prolific songwriter. I’ve been wanting to make this album and share Billie’s story and songs with the world for many moons now and I’m thankful that the stars and our schedules finally aligned and gave us the chance to bring these songs to life” says Moore. \nNo God in Juarez is filled with cinematic characters such as El Capitan and Benito from the title track and the murderous Hezekiah Burden of “Hezekiah’s Heart” to the classic country poetry of “A House of Cards and “The Ballad of Reuben Dixon.” The album also turns the page on a new chapter in the story of Dallas Moore as “No God in Juarez” is the first offering to showcase the new lineup of The Dallas Moore Band which is somewhat of a super group of veteran musicians including “Saint” Nick Giese (David Allen Coe) on guitar\, Mike Bernal (Dale Watson\, Gary P. Nunn) on drums\, Paul Priest (Jericho Woods\, Bluegrass Veteran) on bass and longtime DMB member Mike Owens on harmonica. World renowned boogie-woogie piano man Ricky Nye (who played in an early version of Billie Gant and The Vigilante’s) rounds out the band in raucous roadhouse fashion on keys. \n“We kept this recording totally in house and close to our hearts from the players to self-producing and even having the album cover Art hand painted by Nick Giese.” adds Moore. The album was recorded and produced by Brian DeBruler at the Sol Records studios in Bright\, Indiana along with Moore and Giese. \nNot for the faint of heart\, No God in Juarez takes the listener on a journey through the highest highs and lowest lows confronting nefarious characters along the way as The Dallas Moore Band paints the pictures penned by Billie Gant. \ndallasmoorebooking@gmail.com \n \n  \nA few songs into the new Tom Hampton album “A Month Of Somedays”\, it’s easy to get the sense that these songs have been simmering on low heat over the course of several soul-searching years. Hampton is certainly no stranger to the studio – on his own behalf or in the service of records by Craig Bickhardt\, Dan May\, Mustangs of the West\, Michael Braunfeld\, Chris Canterbury\, or Cimarron 615 (the band he formed with fellow ex-Poco members in the wake of the 2021 death of their founder\, Rusty Young). Still\, the drought between releases of original material has been a long one. \nHis years as a journeyman multi-instrumentalist and sideman are bookended by his initial foray into music as a singer/songwriter – he released his critically acclaimed debut “Our Mutual Angels” in 1997 while simultaneously heeding the call as a session player based on his demonstrated adeptness on multiple instruments during those recording sessions. After finding himself disillusioned by the demands of driving a solo career\, the transition became an easy way to hide in plain sight – “For me\, it meant that I could still play music in front of people\, I could still make records\, but I was relieved of the pressures of blowing my own horn\,” he remembers. \nOver the course of subsequent years playing sessions in Philadelphia and touring with John Lilley of the Hooters\, Philadelphia legend Robert Hazard\, the band Idlewheel (which featured Craig Bickhardt and Poco bassist Jack Sundrud) and a stint on the road with southern rockers the Marshall Tucker Band\, he made several homemade albums on a recreational basis but his focus on songwriting had taken a backseat to his instrumental craft. After relocating to Nashville and an invitation to join the pioneering country rock band Poco\, he felt ready to settle into his new role in a band he’d loved since his teenage years – until the pandemic sidelined the notion of touring. With Young’s subsequent passing and the formulation of the band that grew out of the final Poco lineup\, Hampton rediscovered his yellow legal pad. \n“I knew I’d be expected to contribute songs to the record\, and that I’d have to sharpen that skill set again and shake off the rust\, but it was as if I opened up a vein\,” he recalled. “I must have written a dozen songs when we started collecting material for the record\, and I haven’t really slowed down since.” \nThat rediscovered voice in these latter day songs owes as much to Jason Isbell and John Moreland as it does to formative influences like Jackson Browne and Stephen Stills – his songs touch on fleeting intimate unspoken moments during late night drives\, searching for renewal and reconnection in relationships\, and the struggles of balancing ones’ dreams with the need to survive. \nOther songs are conversational confrontations of bigotry (“Wrong Side of History”) or character studies of other lives he’s intersected with on his path. “Disappear” is a peek into the story of original Poco drummer George Grantham\, who lived with Hampton and his family for a year while transitioning into assisted living for treatment for dementia. “Gasoline” is the meditation of a truck stop cashier whose days are spent watching everyone else en route to somewhere else while they stand frozen behind the counter\, and “The Ghost Of The Girl With The Smiling Eye”s recounts an imagined conversation between an encountered stranger and Hampton’s longtime friend\, legendary Philadelphia disc jockey Michael Tearson. “That Song You Used To Know” is told through the eyes of a touring musician in a band whose setlist is chiseled in stone by its long-past chart successes. \nIndeed\, when listening to the songs on “A Month Of Somedays”\, it’s hard not to ponder the records Hampton would’ve made if he’d stayed on his initial path – but those thoughts are dismissed in conversation. “I can’t let myself get caught up in hypotheticals – this is happening right when it’s supposed to be happening.” \n“A Month Of Somedays” will be available for purchase as physical product as well as streaming on all DSP’s at the end of July 2024\, with extensive tour dates to follow. It offers the song as wisdom as the creature catches its breath before moving on again.” – American Songwriter \nOn their new record Tall Tales & Fables (out October 15)\, Nashville duo Haunted Like Human delves deeper into inspired songwriting\, sparse arrangements\, and\, naturally\, the frisson-inducing harmonies that marked their previous two releases. Despite the album’s title\, these songs are honest\, above all else. Real\, tender\, messy honesty. \n“We put a ton of emphasis on storytelling in each of our songs. We tell our own stories\, we tell other people’s stories\, we tell stories that we’ve seen from touring\,” says Cody Clark\, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. Limned with nostalgia\, soaked in Southern gothic lore\, the duo meticulously assembles songs to preserve the spirit of the stories they tell. “When we write\, we will beat a couple lines to death for two hours. In the end\, it gets us to something we’re really proud of\,” lead singer and lyricist Dale Chapman says. \nWith a background in poetry and prose\, her granular focus on language is simpatico with Clark’s background in classical guitar. Though he began playing in metal and punk bands\, Clark’s evolution meant studying composition at the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. There\, he focused on classical guitar. After purchasing a steel-string guitar and switching to an entirely fingerpicked style\, Clark knew he’d found a place in acoustic music\, stripped down so that each note carries its own weight. \nIt was this evolution that inspired Clark to drive from Oregon to Nashville in 2017. Hoping to find collaborators who were serious about music. Within a couple days\, he met Chapman at a coffee shop. She deduced that he was a lost tourist and struck up a conversation\, leading to a cowriting session. Next thing they knew\, Clark had relocated to Nashville and they were making their first album\, Ghost Stories. On the heels of that\, they offered up their Folklore EP\, featuring standout single “Feels Like Fire.” While that EP sought to channel the minimalist\, intimate spirit of their live shows\, Tall Tales & Fables is the next step in their maturation. Polished but not shiny\, the album benefits from Mitch Dane’s production. Together with skilled string players\, the album developed its own life while staying true to Clark and Chapman’s partnership\, one built on literal and metaphorical voices. \n“Every choice on this record was really intentional\,” says Chapman. That shows in the attention to detail\, how every element serves to highlight the harmonies and songwriting that are the spine of this project. Performed live\, these songs take on a transparent and personal quality\, augmented by the duo’s instant camaraderie with the crowd. Haunted Like Human opened for The Talbott Brothers at Nashville’s City Winery in 2019\, and in pre-Covid 2020\, they shared a stage with Ordinary Elephant at the Corpus Christi Songwriters Fest.

After all\, there’s something to be said about first impressions\, given the fact they seem to linger the longest. \nConsequently\, singer/songwriter Nick Taylor’s debut album\, due for release on June 21 and tellingly-titled Not Alone\, offers an exceptional introduction\, a rich and riveting set of songs and meaningful melodies that ought to easily assert his standing within the revered realms of today’s Americana environs. \nIndeed\, for Nick himself\, it represents a bold step forward\, given the fact that up until now he’s made his mark as a solo performer\, armed with only his singularly expressive vocals and an acoustic guitar. “Having the opportunity to work with such great people on this album — the musicians\, engineers\, producers\, and managers — makes me feel like the songs are finally becoming all they can be\,” he says. “It’s been an amazing experience to work with such skilled and talented professionals and I can’t wait to see where this album leads me. DESCRIPTION:Thomas Hinds\, a troubadour from northern Georgia\, has spent most of the last four years playing an impressive mix of original songs that share the struggles of life\, love\, and finding oneself within these melodies all over the southeastern part of the U.S. The covers he chooses fit nicely with his voice and onstage demeanor\, always tinged with a silvery hue and inspiring to never give up\, no matter how the world around us appears. Thomas is currently releasing singles for his upcoming album set to release on June 30th of this year. \nThomas spent most of 2019 on the road criss-crossing the U.S. with his catalog of originals and ever-increasing covers\, which has welcomed him back to venues time and again. His first release\, Ghosts and Lamentations\, was in 2015\, and in late 2017\, he released an EP titled Barbwire Bouquet\, which included two songs recorded with Jono. The EP featured Keep On and a reworked version of Favorite Hello\, originally on Ghosts and Lamentations\, which\, according to Jeffrey Foucault\, “showed a lot of growth in the songwriting.” \nWith Resurrection Road\, Thomas takes a step towards solidifying his writing ability\, with a touch of Ray Lamontagne and Steve Earl in the fabric of the songs stretching out in this collection. After relocating from New Mexico to his current home in northern Georgia\, Thomas has found fertile ground for growing and solidifying his voice among some amazing talented musicians and songwriters. DESCRIPTION:WoodSongs began in a small\, humble recording studio behind a little cafe in Lexington\, Kentucky. Aside from Michael Johnathon and the artists who appeared on the show\, about 18 folks could squeeze into the cramped studio room\, sitting on plastic chairs or pillows on the floor. We served home-made cookies and apple cider to entice our friends to show up for the Monday tapings. The idea was simple: to create a worldwide stage that would genuinely celebrate the passion and spirit of grassroots music and art. We wanted to\nfind that massive\, global audience that didn’t care “what bin you’re in” or what manager you had or whether or not you were signed to a major label. Just that you are good. You believe in your own music. You are unique and different. And so\, WoodSongs was born on a spring afternoon\, We had one college radio station airing the show\, a couple dozen friends packed into the hot studio … and the hope that\, someday\, maybe a second radio station might air our show.

DESCRIPTION:“I’ve been all over the world/I’ve seen almost everything/I’ve sung all kinds of places/People call me the queen.” That’s the start of the middle verse from the modern blues standard “Mississippi Woman\,” a gritty song that’s been handed up and down the muddy banks of the mighty river that bears its name and passed along like a secret from the hills of Holly Springs to the juke joints of Memphis and into the hands of Elizabeth Wise\, a young folk singer and guitarist who possesses what they used to call an old soul. With a slide in her left hand and conviction in her voice\, Wise inhabits the lines that come next\, delivering them as a mystical incantation and a purposeful statement of fact. “No matter where I go y’all/I give them something real/People all over the world/Need that Mississippi feel.’ \nWise has indeed travelled the world and truly lived in it\, from the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and on up the James River to the “Richmondtown” she reflects wistfully on in one of her many original compositions. From the aforementioned juke joints of Memphis and folk clubs in Manhattan to the wilds of New Zealand and the plains of Oklahoma\, where she spent a year communing with her restless muse and spreading her respect for the blues. From her formative years playing piano and singing church music\, to her coming of age as a fully formed folk artist steeped in traditions that trace their roots back to Appalachian hills\, Kentucky bluegrass\, and\, of course\, the blues of the Delta. As the Memphis Blues Society noted\, Wise is “authentic yet refreshingly original\,” and “a blueswoman at the dawn of a superb career.” \nThat career now spans just shy of 20 years of performing professionally in bars\, clubs\, and living rooms\, and on festival stages up and down the US’s East Coast and Midwest\, and New Zealand’s North Island. Wise continues listening to\, learning from\, and living with the music that inspires her. She shares her passion for great songs and good times\, in solo settings with an acoustic guitar and in more raucous environs backed by a full band. \nOver that time\, Wise has continued to evolve as a singer\, a guitarist\, a songwriter\, and a canny interpreter of traditional folk forms. Her songbook has grown to include her tenacious yet nuanced takes on timeless blues tunes popularize by artists like Elmore James\, Memphis Minnie\, and Sippie Wallace\, swing-era classics by the great Duke Ellington\, and songbook standards by Irving Berlin. DESCRIPTION:Jack Hatfield is from Knoxville\, TN. This group came together to help record Jack’s solo banjo album. Jack taught bluegrass instruments at Broadway Sound for seventeen years and performed on WNOX radio’s live broadcast Saturday night Barn Dance before moving to Pigeon Forge to perform at Dollywood and Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede. He performed locally with mandolin great Red Rector and worked with Ava Barber and Dick Dale at their theater in Pigeon Forge. Jack wrote a column for Banjo Newsletter Magazine for thirty years and still contributes occasionally. He has published over twenty-five instruction books for Mel Bay Publications and his own Hatfield Music. He was invited to be on the faculty of the Tennessee Banjo Institute in Lebanon\, TN in 1988. This was the very first acoustic music camp\, spawning an industry in the bluegrass world. He was bluegrass director of Banjo Newsletter’s Maryland Banjo Institute and Chuck Stearman’s Traditional Music Camp in Nashville. He has directed the annual SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America) banjo workshop for twenty-eight years and has toured all over the USA and in four other countries combining banjo workshops and performances. He founded his own Smoky Mountain Banjo Academy music camp in 2004. He is founder of True Blue bluegrass band and Hatfield’s Heathens (americana band)\, having entertained at festivals\, concert venues and special events around East Tennessee for over forty years. \nDave Eggar is a product of the renowned Julliard school of music. He was a child prodigy\, appearing at Carnegie Hall at age fifteen on piano. Long before Dave was renowned as a world class cellist\, he was writing\, performing\, and recording with Amy Lee and Evanescence\, playing on Coldplay’s #1 smash “Viva La Vida\,” touring with American Idol winner Phillip Phillips and directing local symphony orchestras on tour with the supergroup Foreigner\, he quietly launched a solo career as a composer/pianist\, releasing the solo piano albums Serenity (1998) and Angelic Embrace (2002). He has four solo albums and has contributed to a dozen Grammy – nominated projects. He is a highly sought-after recording artist in the New Age community. Sidelined from his whirlwind road and New York City studio career during the pandemic lockdown\, Dave moved to Bristol\, TN and stays booked at a recording studio there\, remotely recording and arranging orchestral scores\, commercials\, and album overdubs. He is probably one of busiest cellists on the planet. \nRusty Holloway is from Knoxville\, TN. He has been a professional bass player since the age of sixteen\, beginning his career as a sideman backing such artists as The Tams\, The Platters\, The Drifters\, The Coasters\, Little Anthony\, “Fats” Domino\, Martha Reeves\, Percy Sledge\, along with many regional rhythm and blues\, country\, society\, bluegrass\, and gospel groups. He toured for several years with jazz legend\, Woody Herman. In the acoustic/bluegrass world he has recorded with Beppe Gambetta\, John Carlini\, Don Stiernberg\, Steve Spurgin\, the Kruger brothers\, Kenny Kosek and many more. He spent thirty-five years as a university bass teacher and studio orchestra conductor\, a clinician in many major university programs\, and for several years was a highly sought-after studio musician in New York City. \nGarrett and Gavin Gregg fill out the ensemble. They are also from Knoxville\, TN. On guitar and mandolin respectively\, these undiscovered brothers are among the best acoustic pickers anywhere. They both have totally original approaches to their instruments. Garrett is also a masterful banjo player. Garrett currently performs with Jack Hatfield’s True Blue bluegrass band\, and Gavin performs with Redd the Band among others.

They released two new singles in spring 2024 on Turnberry Records and the full CD will release September 4th. \nMembers are: \nJeanette Williams (Danville VA) – Jeanette has become one of the most successful and celebrated women in bluegrass music. Her list of awards\, accolades\, and career highlights continues to grow\, as does her adoring fan base from coast to coast\, and internationally\, with her powerful songs\, angelic voice and warm\, sincere personality. Touring\, recording and industry awards have become a mainstay for Jeanette. She also plays bass with the band. With more than seventeen SPBGMA nominations thru 2021\, and three wins for Female Vocalist of the Year (2009\, 2012 and 2013)\, two IBMA awards (2006 and 2009 Recorded Event of the Year\, with the Daughters Of Bluegrass) two songwriting awards (2007 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest\, 2008 IAMA Songwriting Contest) and over thirty-four years of performance experience in Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel\, Jeanette is expanding her repertoire to include her early influences of Classic Country\, Blues\, Roots\, and Rock n’ Roll. \nJay Shelton (Danville VA) – Jay was on the bluegrass scene in the 70’s & 80’s as a lead singer and lead guitarist. He changed direction and became the front man for a rock band for many years. Afterwards he became a singer songwriter performing solo concerts. In 2019 he returned to the bluegrass scene. An accomplished lead guitarist\, songwriter and vocalist he recorded his first project “Home” (including Jeanette & Johnny Williams) this past year. \nJohnny Williams (Danville VA)\, plays guitar\, shares vocals and writes most of the band’s original material. An award winning singer and songwriter\, he has been named Virginia State Champion Male Vocalist\, PICABO Male Vocalist (twice)\, and PICABO Songwriter of the Year. He was the bluegrass division winner of the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at Merlefest in 1998 & 1999. He has also been a finalist for the SPBGMA Male Vocalist and Songwriter the past few years in Nashville TN. \nRecently Johnny and his wife Jeanette were awarded “Lifetime Achievement Awards” by the city of Danville VA for their contributions to bluegrass music for the past thirty years both nationally and internationally.

DESCRIPTION:Born to a stand-up comedian and an actress\, Knoxville-raised Sam Hatmaker assumed from a very young age that everyone was just supposed to be on stage\, so she decided she would become a singer. At 10 years old\, her path became even more clear when she began performing in shows at Dollywood (even though by then she had figured out that not everyone had to be on stage). She moved to Nashville after signing her first publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music at the age of 16. In 2019 Sam recorded her debut EP with Grammy award-winning producer Nathan Chapman. \n \nJJ Earl is the stage name for Jason Owen and a nod to his grandfather Earl Beeler. Jason grew up in Powell\, TN and solidly believed that he would die before he turned 30 years old. He has put thousands of hours into telling his story and expressing his love for his family and friends. Backyard farming\, his dogs\, his chickens\, his family\, and his friends are what he enjoys most in life- not necessarily in the previously stated order.

DESCRIPTION:The Shade Trees are a bluegrass/country/folk duet group based out of Chattanooga\, TN. The group consists of multi-instrumentalists Seth Hicks and Jessica Whaley. Both members were born and raised in Georgia. We started our collaboration in 2018 when we both started jamming some tunes in the lobby area of a local Georgia music store at the time. Since then we have curated a setlist consisting of a variety of styles and genres. Performing anything from bluegrass standards like Are you missing me by Jim and Jesse\, to old rock hits like Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress) by The Hollies\, we have worked to create a large\, full band sound with only two musicians on the stage. \n \nCam & The Fresh Buzz are a dynamic acoustic duo from Chattanooga\, TN. They formed in 2021. Cam is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist and The Fresh Buzz is a percussionist with background vocals. Their style ranges from different genres from country\, pop\, rock\, and blues. This is where we share our journey and what makes us stand out in the music industry. DESCRIPTION:Wild Roots is an independent\, women-led band based in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Headed by Julia Houghton and Olivia Moore\, the group released their debut album\, Wild Roots Rising\, in 2021 and have since continued to tour\, playing stages and festivals across the country. Olivia and Julia have co-created music for nearly a decade and collaborate in many areas of life; in addition to being soul sisters\, the two share a deep passion for sustainable living and environmental justice. While Wild Roots’ music celebrates the joy of friendship and community\, it also seeks to hold those in power accountable and question the status quo. Julia and Olivia harness their political passions to shed light on issues of social injustice and the degradation of the natural world. \nBest known for their complex harmonies\, Wild Roots draws inspiration from other powerful women musicians\, including MaMuse\, Rising Appalachia\, The Staves\, Fiona Apple\, and Mountain Man. They prefer not to confine themselves to a singular genre\, instead learning from a wide variety of influences to encourage creative play and musical experimentation. Both Julia and Olivia have a background in classical music but appreciate community oriented folk music traditions. Wild Roots songs transport listeners to an evening around the campfire or an intimate gathering with friends in a meadow. They believe performance should create an emotional catharsis for musicians and listeners alike and seek to create art that both challenges them as musicians and makes fans want to sing along. \n

DESCRIPTION:Over the past two and a half decades\, Dave Eggar‘s earned rock star status in pop music world as first-call cellist and string arranger for superstars like Coldplay\, Evanescence\, John Legend\, Lewis Capaldi and Bebe Rexha and Foreigner. Yet for the multi-talented veteran musician\, the piano has always been the ultimate place of solace since his childhood days as a classical prodigy. \nIn his youth\, those keys were a sacred space where he found a home immersed in the lyrical glories of Chopin ballades and solo pieces by Satie\, Gabriel Faure and Toru Takemitsu. Throughout his career\, even as the four-time Grammy nominee has amassed hundreds of string credits\, the piano compositions on his solo albums – from his 1998 debut Serenity to his prodigious latest release Dragonfly – reveal a truer artistry that comes alive in a space where he connects with people more deeply and emotionally. \nCo-written and produced\, like Eggar’s 2021 album Awakening\, by drummer\, percussionist and songwriter Chuck Palmer\, Dragonfly is a thematically expansive yet musically intimate collection which\, true to the title’s mythological implications\, finds Eggar exploring the concepts of metamorphosis\, self-realization and the insight of clear vision. It’s all with an eye towards helping us meet the great challenges of a post pandemic world\, rise above the darkness and discover exciting new possibilities. \nWhile most of the pianist’s previous solo albums bear titles reflecting the healing music space (including 2002’s Angelic Embrace)\, the symbolism of the Dragonfly – brilliantly embodied by the colorful\, intricate cover illustration and artwork – made perfect sense as a reflection of a hopeful embrace of a new era. In essence\, it’s a tribute as well to Gomeo\, a Native American philosopher and fan of Eggar’s music who always called the artist “Dragonflyboy” in reference to the combination of courage and fragility he observed in Eggar. Eggar in turn dedicates the graceful\, reflective title track to Gomeo. \n“The pandemic and resulting lockdown freed us from our usual distractions and made us all stop and think about the meaning of our lives\,” says Eggar\, who is releasing Dragonfly in the wake of the two 2023 Grammy nominations earned for his work with clarinetist Tasha Warren on the album Ourself Behind Ourself\, Concealed\, featuring compositions by Paquito D’Rivera and Pascal Le Boeuf. “I look at these realizations and the re-entry into new phases of life as a metamorphosis\, much like the one a dragonfly undergoes from larva to adult. As we re-enter society\, it begs the question: How can we do better and find the beauty within ourselves? \n“On Awakening\,” he adds\, “the songs were vehicles for me to think through and solve issues related to that difficult time. With Dragonfly\, they’re about being more courageous and enlivening. Now that we’re moving into the next chapter of our existence\, how do we strike out in the world? On a personal level\, the darkness where the album begins and ends reflects my working through pain\, looking metaphorically over these past few years as I’ve experienced the transformation from a darkness into a place of light.” \nMuch of the darkness Eggar refers to is rooted in his sorrow over the loss of many special people in his life over the past year. In the album’s credits\, he dedicates Dragonfly to the aforementioned Gomeo as well as Andrew\, Mark and Ronnie. Losing so many in such a short span inspired him to think about his many vectors as a musician. Following the stark\, elegant “Prelude\,” he taps into “The Darkness\,” a graceful hypnotic piece with classical overtones (and the added heartrending texture of his cello harmony) for Andrew\, a close friend who took his own life. \nThe equally soulful\, haunting tune “Sorrow Returns” is for “Ronnie” – a nickname for Rosalyn Freundlich\, a therapist who transformed his lie at an early age\, helping him from his teens through his early 30s. This included the later period of a troubled childhood\, which ran from the highs of being a child prodigy playing the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall to running away from home. “Ronnie was more than a therapist for me\,” he says. “She was also a very powerful philosopher. Her passing had a significant impact on the recording of Dragonfly.” \nComplementing the gorgeous\, introspective piano pieces – which include “Embark\,” “Encircled\,” “Soliloquy” and “Shards of Light” – are the stately\, dramatic and hopeful “Lullaby of Kingston” (a piano rendition of the title track from his 2010 album Kingston Morning) and two tracks Eggar performs with Bristol Lightning\, the Americana quartet he formed during the quarantine period with talented bluegrass musicians he met and vibed with upon his pandemic-era move from NYC to Bristol\, TN. The group’s Blake Collins (mandolin) and Phil Faconti (guitar) appear with Eggar on the uniquely experimental\, atmosphere-rich\, mood swinging “Memories of New York” and are joined by singer Ashton Davison (providing ethereal wordless vocals) on the trippy and tension filled\, densely percussive classical/bluegrass fusion jam “Road Trip.” \nAt first\, Eggar thought these two Bristol Lightning tracks were too much of a departure from the piano-centric flow of the rest of Dragonfly – but ultimately he loved how everything worked together to capture where he’s coming from in a meditative space while expanding his repertoire\, taking risks and tackling new adventures in his life. “You can go on a road trip to explore new possibilities and also remember New York as it was and find new life there\,” he says. “These songs relate all the possibilities that await us after a long time of struggle. Through all the meditation\, we can find a time for action.” \nThough it is the closing track\, the piano piece “Onwards” flows like an unfinished folk song\, promising more magic to come. Ending with such simplicity harkens back to “Appalachian Spring\,” an enduring work by famed composer Aaron Copland\, who in his later years lived in Eggar’s hometown of Croton-on-Hudson NY and was Eggar’s piano teacher when he was six. It is also a way of acknowledging the pianist’s mellower but still quite vibrant life now in Appalachia\, considered by some to be the birthplace of country music. \nWhile Eggar’s fascinating history as a prodigy usually takes precedence in his official biographies\, it’s the way music helped the Julliard trained musician cop with the struggles of that childhood that tell the deeper story of his evolving genius. In addition to being in great demand with jazz and pop music royalty (Michael Brecker\, David Foster\, Taylor Swift\, Tony Bennett\, Andrea Bocelli and Esperanza Spalding\, among scores of others)\, he has collaborated with the New York City Ballet\, the Jose Limon Company\, Attack Theatre\, Pendulum Aerial Arts\, Shen Wei Dance\, San Francisco Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. \nEggar has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Thailand Philharmonic\, The Sydney Symphony\, the Melbourne Symphony\, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Over the past few years\, he has collaborated on live events with yoga artist Christiane Sabo\, which allowed him to explore the idea of how emotion and meditation work in tandem. \n“I like the way the music on Dragonfly isn’t just about processing sorrow and loss in a meditative space\, but also opens up a journey from there into once again embracing the world with courage and confidence\,” says Eggar. “I am grateful for the many years I have been with Domo Records\, whose leadership always believed in my unique voice as an artist\, even when I wasn’t sure of myself. With each album\, it’s been wonderfully gratifying to see a substantial increase in people listening. With this little seed planted so long ago\, we’ve built a beautiful world of possibilities.”

DESCRIPTION:High Carbon Steel is a budding country/americana group based out of Roane County TN. Cory\, Dawson\, and Nathan have been playing covers of great artists across these genres together for years. Now they’ve written great music of their own and are taking it (along with the songs that inspire them) anywhere people will listen. \nThe boys met in their teens and quickly discovered how well they fit together. Mostly just picking in the comfort of their homes\, occasionally they would find an opportunity to play for family or a group of friends. Upon founding the group in 2022\, they were ready to get out of the living room and into the ears of whoever would appreciate their music. Now they are playing events all over East Tennessee and beyond! \nThe group plays music spanning across the decades from country\, and bluegrass legends such as Merle Haggard\, The Seldom Scene\, George Jones\, Blue Highway\, and many many more. They are also very invested in the current revival of country music coming from artists such as Tyler Childers\, Sturgill Simpson\, Charley Crockett\, etc. They’re just getting into the world of writing music of their own\, taking inspiration from all the artists that they’ve covered for years\, as well as music from outside the genre (Rock\, Blues\, Soul\, Pop\, etc.). This blend gives them a sound of their own that is still growing every day!
