SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special — 6/1 — Zach Bellas / Soul-R Fusion
DESCRIPTION:Zach Bellas is the name of the band. And they truly are a band. A three-piece national touring alternative rock powerhouse with a catalog of incredible music and an undeniably brilliant live show. \nSlightly psychedelic and punk adjacent\, their sound is a delicious mirepoix of the great rock bands of the past. Strong 70’s and early 90’s classic rock influences can be felt throughout mixed with blues\, reggae\, country\, jazz\, and a variety of latin music influences – all marry together to make a distinctly unique\, but also instantly familiar experience that fans adore. \nWhile originally rooted in the Washington\, DC area and now located in Wilmington\, North Carolina\, the band really took shape during their formative years in Baltimore\, Maryland. With Tom McAteer on drums\, Kyle Hadley on bass and backing vocals\, and Zach Bellas on lead vocals and guitar – the band had an unfortunate start. \nAfter spending the better part of 2019 recording two albums at the same time and planning two full nationwide tours totaling almost 200 shows\, the band was forced on hiatus by the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020. Over the next couple years\, the group slowly eked out a few singles\, a short ep\, and scrapped together tours with whatever venues were able to open at the time. \nAs things opened back up\, the band went back into full force. They released a full-length album called No Questions No Answers to great acclaim followed by their greatest work to date – a single named ‘One More Show’ – to immensely positive response from both fans and in the press\, which was immediately followed by another winner\, the hit song ‘Congratulations’ \nNow back in a very solid rhythm\, 2026 is shaping up to be the biggest year ever for the band. They have a new full-length album in the works that they are recording in Wilmington\, NC and performing live as much as possible. \n \nSoul-R Fusion is an acoustic guitar and fretless bass songwriter duo that will draw you in and take you on a  mystic musical journey. \nTim Koehler (acoustic guitar / vocals) and Alex Goodell (fretless bass) are both originally from New Jersey\, but met by chance in Wilmington\, North Carolina in 2015.  When they collaborated things really clicked\, and they developed an original sound by blending diverse musical influences and unique approaches to their instruments and to songwriting. \nTim began playing guitar in his early teens and is largely self-taught.  He was the lead guitarist and frontperson for several New Jersey based bands.  Then\, with a switch from electric to acoustic\, Tim went solo\, playing acoustic guitar in the Red Bank\, NJ music scene and occasionally dipping into the crowded Greenwich Village folk scene.  After several relocations\, he ended up in Wilmington\, NC\, where he frequented open-mics and gigged as a solo singer-songwriter. \nTim’s “superpower” has always been his ability to get to the emotional center of a song.  His thoughtfully crafted lyrics relate stories\, experiences\, and emotions that he brings to life with his rich\, soulful vocals. \nAlex played classical violin throughout her childhood.  She started playing bass as a teenager and is a graduate of the bass guitar program at Musicians Institute in California.  She has played with a variety of bands on the east and west coasts\, performing a range of genres including rock power trio\, Elvis tribute\, county-rock\, funk-soul\, surf\, retro-instrumental mash-up\, and jam band. \nAlex’s melodic bass playing highlights the magical qualities of the fretless bass. \nThis complementary combination led to the formation of Soul-R Fusion\, and the duo became partners in music and life. \nSoul-R Fusion features the interplay between Tim’s intelligent\, heartfelt lyrics\, and Alex’s ethereal fretless basslines. Their songs are optimistic reflections on life.

SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special — 5/28 — Aaron McGlone / Shane Weisman
DESCRIPTION:Aaron McGlone is a Kentucky-born singer-songwriter whose music bridges the sacred and the honky-tonk\, delivering raw\, heartfelt Americana steeped in tradition. Raised in the pews of Lower Grassy Church of Christ\, Aaron’s musical journey began with gospel harmonies and the soulful storytelling of country music. Hailing from Lexington\, KY\, Aaron has become a fixture in the regional music scene\, performing across Kentucky and neighboring states. His original compositions\, such as “Angels in a Honky Tonk\,” showcase his ability to blend spiritual themes with the grit of everyday life\, resonating with audiences seeking authenticity in music. Aaron’s performances are characterized by his rich vocals and acoustic guitar work\, creating an intimate atmosphere that captivates listeners. Whether performing solo or collaborating with other artists\, he brings a depth of emotion and sincerity to the stage that reflects his roots and personal experiences. In addition to his live performances\, Aaron has been featured on platforms like Bourbon Trail Radio\, further expanding his reach and connecting with a broader audience. His dedication to his craft and his community has solidified his reputation as a genuine voice in the Americana and country music scenes. \n \n  \nSinger\, songwriter + multi-instrumentalist Shane Weisman returns with “The Optimist\,” a timeless\, rootsy new single arriving today. With its nostalgic 70s flair —equal parts Rod Stewart swagger and Tom Petty soul — the track delivers both sonic nostalgia and emotional depth\, serving as a key piece of his forthcoming concept album Better Luck Tomorrow\, out in early 2026 via Too Fine Records. \nNarratively\, “The Optimist” paints a cinematic portrait of a nameless man in New York City who calls himself “The Optimist.” From his apartment\, he tells the story of his two neighbors: Sonny\, a college dropout chasing a dream in the city\, and Slingshot Sue\, a faded one-hit Broadway star still grasping at the echoes of fame. Through his eyes\, the song becomes a mirror for resilience\, struggle\, and the quiet hope that carries us forward. \n“My record Better Luck Tomorrow is very much about self-discovery and rebuilding after everything falls apart\,” Weisman says. “But this song — told through The Optimist’s perspective — is that voice of reason we all need sometimes. I wrote it to remind myself that it’s all gonna be okay.” \nMusically\, “The Optimist” is a masterclass in understated grandeur — highlighted by an epic guitar solo in the bridge that locks perfectly in step with a wistful harmonica line\, creating a moment that feels both nostalgic and transcendent. It’s the kind of song that could have poured out of a smoke-filled studio in 1975 — raw\, real\, and crafted with care. \nThe single previews Weisman’s upcoming full-length project\, Better Luck Tomorrow — an album he produced entirely himself. Describing the record as “about everything falling apart — and what comes after\,” Weisman set out to create a body of work that honors the integrity of true album-making. \n“My goal is to give my audience an album that’s actually crafted by the artist\,” he goes on to say.. “I didn’t sit in a room with five people trying to screw in a lightbulb. I want to revive real albums created by real artists. Let’s be real — would we buy a Picasso if he said\, ‘Hey\, this is a painting I made with a few of my friends’? Absolutely not.” \nIn addition to his own work\, Weisman has produced for other artists – including Gabe Baker’s award-winning Twelve Out Of Ten – but Better Luck Tomorrow is the sound of him fully stepping into his own voice. Real\, poetic\, and unafraid\, it’s the kind of record built to resonate long after the last note fades.

SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special — 5/27 — Wyatt Ellis
DESCRIPTION:Wyatt Ellis has accomplished more by age 17 than many musicians do in a lifetime. Hailing from the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee\, he’s quickly emerging as one of bluegrass music’s brightest young stars. With virtuosic mandolin playing\, heartfelt vocals\, and original songwriting\, Wyatt blends the deep traditions of bluegrass with a fresh\, youthful energy. Backed by a powerhouse band of Appalachia’s finest young musicians\, Wyatt delivers high-octane performances that range from the Grand Ole Opry to major festivals like MerleFest and Gray Fox. His band’s signature single-mic setup showcases their tight harmonies\, high-lonesome vocals\, and blistering solos\, creating a sound steeped in tradition yet driven by the future. Wyatt’s breakout year included a debut at the Newport Folk Festival\, chart-topping original instrumentals from his debut album\, and becoming one of the youngest regular performers in Grand Ole Opry history. His authentic Appalachian songwriting and seasoned stage presence have quickly set him apart as a once-in-a-generation talent with a deep respect for bluegrass music’s heritage. 2024’s IBMA Momentum Instrumentalist of the Year and twice nominated for IBMA’s New Artist of the Year\, Wyatt has collaborated with legends like Peter Rowan\, Marty Stuart\, and the late Bobby Osborne. His January 2025 release\, Winds of Rowan County\, a duet with Rowan\, celebrated bluegrass roots while symbolically passing the torch. Wyatt’s lead and harmony mandolin solo on Bobby Osborne’s final recording of “Rocky Top\,” along with their co-written instrumental “Fern Branch\,” were both featured on Osborne’s posthumous album\, a tribute to Wyatt’s connection to his hero and mentor. With a debut vocal album of all-new original songs on the way\, Wyatt Ellis stands poised at the forefront of bluegrass\, honoring the legacy of the genre while boldly pushing it forward into a new era.

SUMMARY:The WDVX Big Plate — 5/22 — Dave Eggar
DESCRIPTION:Over the past two and a half decades\, Dave Eggar‘s earned rock star status in pop music world as first-call cellist and string arranger for superstars like Coldplay\, Evanescence\, John Legend\, Lewis Capaldi and Bebe Rexha and Foreigner. Yet for the multi-talented veteran musician\, the piano has always been the ultimate place of solace since his childhood days as a classical prodigy. \nIn his youth\, those keys were a sacred space where he found a home immersed in the lyrical glories of Chopin ballades and solo pieces by Satie\, Gabriel Faure and Toru Takemitsu. Throughout his career\, even as the four-time Grammy nominee has amassed hundreds of string credits\, the piano compositions on his solo albums – from his 1998 debut Serenity to his prodigious latest release Dragonfly – reveal a truer artistry that comes alive in a space where he connects with people more deeply and emotionally. \nCo-written and produced\, like Eggar’s 2021 album Awakening\, by drummer\, percussionist and songwriter Chuck Palmer\, Dragonfly is a thematically expansive yet musically intimate collection which\, true to the title’s mythological implications\, finds Eggar exploring the concepts of metamorphosis\, self-realization and the insight of clear vision. It’s all with an eye towards helping us meet the great challenges of a post pandemic world\, rise above the darkness and discover exciting new possibilities. \nWhile most of the pianist’s previous solo albums bear titles reflecting the healing music space (including 2002’s Angelic Embrace)\, the symbolism of the Dragonfly – brilliantly embodied by the colorful\, intricate cover illustration and artwork – made perfect sense as a reflection of a hopeful embrace of a new era. In essence\, it’s a tribute as well to Gomeo\, a Native American philosopher and fan of Eggar’s music who always called the artist “Dragonflyboy” in reference to the combination of courage and fragility he observed in Eggar. Eggar in turn dedicates the graceful\, reflective title track to Gomeo. \n“The pandemic and resulting lockdown freed us from our usual distractions and made us all stop and think about the meaning of our lives\,” says Eggar\, who is releasing Dragonfly in the wake of the two 2023 Grammy nominations earned for his work with clarinetist Tasha Warren on the album Ourself Behind Ourself\, Concealed\, featuring compositions by Paquito D’Rivera and Pascal Le Boeuf. “I look at these realizations and the re-entry into new phases of life as a metamorphosis\, much like the one a dragonfly undergoes from larva to adult. As we re-enter society\, it begs the question: How can we do better and find the beauty within ourselves? \n“On Awakening\,” he adds\, “the songs were vehicles for me to think through and solve issues related to that difficult time. With Dragonfly\, they’re about being more courageous and enlivening. Now that we’re moving into the next chapter of our existence\, how do we strike out in the world? On a personal level\, the darkness where the album begins and ends reflects my working through pain\, looking metaphorically over these past few years as I’ve experienced the transformation from a darkness into a place of light.” \nMuch of the darkness Eggar refers to is rooted in his sorrow over the loss of many special people in his life over the past year. In the album’s credits\, he dedicates Dragonfly to the aforementioned Gomeo as well as Andrew\, Mark and Ronnie. Losing so many in such a short span inspired him to think about his many vectors as a musician. Following the stark\, elegant “Prelude\,” he taps into “The Darkness\,” a graceful hypnotic piece with classical overtones (and the added heartrending texture of his cello harmony) for Andrew\, a close friend who took his own life. \nThe equally soulful\, haunting tune “Sorrow Returns” is for “Ronnie” – a nickname for Rosalyn Freundlich\, a therapist who transformed his lie at an early age\, helping him from his teens through his early 30s. This included the later period of a troubled childhood\, which ran from the highs of being a child prodigy playing the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall to running away from home. “Ronnie was more than a therapist for me\,” he says. “She was also a very powerful philosopher. Her passing had a significant impact on the recording of Dragonfly.” \nComplementing the gorgeous\, introspective piano pieces – which include “Embark\,” “Encircled\,” “Soliloquy” and “Shards of Light” – are the stately\, dramatic and hopeful “Lullaby of Kingston” (a piano rendition of the title track from his 2010 album Kingston Morning) and two tracks Eggar performs with Bristol Lightning\, the Americana quartet he formed during the quarantine period with talented bluegrass musicians he met and vibed with upon his pandemic-era move from NYC to Bristol\, TN. The group’s Blake Collins (mandolin) and Phil Faconti (guitar) appear with Eggar on the uniquely experimental\, atmosphere-rich\, mood swinging “Memories of New York” and are joined by singer Ashton Davison (providing ethereal wordless vocals) on the trippy and tension filled\, densely percussive classical/bluegrass fusion jam “Road Trip.” \nAt first\, Eggar thought these two Bristol Lightning tracks were too much of a departure from the piano-centric flow of the rest of Dragonfly – but ultimately he loved how everything worked together to capture where he’s coming from in a meditative space while expanding his repertoire\, taking risks and tackling new adventures in his life. “You can go on a road trip to explore new possibilities and also remember New York as it was and find new life there\,” he says. “These songs relate all the possibilities that await us after a long time of struggle. Through all the meditation\, we can find a time for action.” \nThough it is the closing track\, the piano piece “Onwards” flows like an unfinished folk song\, promising more magic to come. Ending with such simplicity harkens back to “Appalachian Spring\,” an enduring work by famed composer Aaron Copland\, who in his later years lived in Eggar’s hometown of Croton-on-Hudson NY and was Eggar’s piano teacher when he was six. It is also a way of acknowledging the pianist’s mellower but still quite vibrant life now in Appalachia\, considered by some to be the birthplace of country music. \nWhile Eggar’s fascinating history as a prodigy usually takes precedence in his official biographies\, it’s the way music helped the Julliard trained musician cop with the struggles of that childhood that tell the deeper story of his evolving genius. In addition to being in great demand with jazz and pop music royalty (Michael Brecker\, David Foster\, Taylor Swift\, Tony Bennett\, Andrea Bocelli and Esperanza Spalding\, among scores of others)\, he has collaborated with the New York City Ballet\, the Jose Limon Company\, Attack Theatre\, Pendulum Aerial Arts\, Shen Wei Dance\, San Francisco Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. \nEggar has also appeared as a featured soloist with the Thailand Philharmonic\, The Sydney Symphony\, the Melbourne Symphony\, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Over the past few years\, he has collaborated on live events with yoga artist Christiane Sabo\, which allowed him to explore the idea of how emotion and meditation work in tandem. \n“I like the way the music on Dragonfly isn’t just about processing sorrow and loss in a meditative space\, but also opens up a journey from there into once again embracing the world with courage and confidence\,” says Eggar. “I am grateful for the many years I have been with Domo Records\, whose leadership always believed in my unique voice as an artist\, even when I wasn’t sure of myself. With each album\, it’s been wonderfully gratifying to see a substantial increase in people listening. With this little seed planted so long ago\, we’ve built a beautiful world of possibilities.”

SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special — 5/14 — Rigby Summer
DESCRIPTION:Rigby Summer weaves an Americana soundscape that reflects the road she’s traveled from her Kansas City jazz upbringing to the beach pop of her former home in southern California to the Red Dirt roots of her longtime home in Stillwater\, Oklahoma and the winds of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains\, where she’s toured extensively and is now making her second home. \nThe result is an eclectic cosmic Americana sound that often draws comparisons to Brandi Carlile and Lucinda Williams—a little modern\, a little old-fashioned\, always earnest. \nIn 2017\, after a five-year hiatus from performing music\, she founded the Monday @ Modella songwriter pop-up in Stillwater\, Oklahoma\, and the ALL MUSIC STARTS LOCAL initiative\, both of which have helped her carve a niche for herself in the Oklahoma scene and beyond. The result is a career built on collaboration and community\, learning from and edifying her fellow artists along the way. \nRigby Summer and the One Night Band marks a new chapter in the creative evolution of Americana artist Rigby Summer—a shift from her solo roots to a full-band sound that fuses modern folk-rock energy with the heart of her songwriting.  With guitarist\, producer\, and music director Eric Tate at the helm\, The One Night Band brings a new dynamic to her songs\, transforming them into something both intimate and electrifying. The result is a sound that’s modern yet timeless—a reflection of community\, collaboration\, and the courage to evolve.

SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special – 5/7 — Kara Grainger / The Prickly Pair
DESCRIPTION:Kara Grainger is an Australian born Guitarist and singer/songwriter! \n \nThe Prickly Pair is an angsty Americana duo based in Nashville\, TN. It all began when Pennsylvania native\, Irene Greene\, reached out to Mason Summit to team up for a class assignment when they both were students at USC/Thornton School of Music—they were in the same class\, but had never met. Then came a bit later a romance when they became a couple. And then\, after pursuing separate musical paths\, deciding during the pandemic to see what they could do as a duo. After that it was a big jump\, moving from L.A. to Nashville. What started as a songwriting class exercise will soon become a marriage and a debut showcasing their “angsty Americana” approach\, The Prickly Pair EP.

SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special – 4/30 — Justin Kaleb/Russell Walker
DESCRIPTION:Justin Kaleb grew up in the foothills of the Arkansas Ozarks and moved to Nashville\, Tennessee at the ripe age of 22. He cut his first record “Homesick Blues” down in the infamous Muscle Shoals\, Alabama with the great Jimmy Nutt (Jimmy Buffett\, Jason Isbell\, American Aquarium) and Gary Nichols (The Steeldrivers)\, and signed his first publishing deal shortly after. What seemed to be a bright immediate future in Nashville soon became a monotonous grind clouded by homesickness and depression. He packed his bags and headed back home to catch his breath. \nAfter a year of being back home in Arkansas and working the Texas and Oklahoma markets\, Nashville came calling again. He found himself back in his old stomping grounds regularly playing shows\, writing music\, and having more fun than he’d ever had before. He partnered up with his old pal Darren King (Project 86/The Overseer) and the songs they were working on quickly became a record. \nJustin Kaleb has seen his fair share of ups and downs. He’s played sold out venues with bands like The Steeldrivers\, and felt the rush of cramming into a 15-passenger van with his best friends to share the stage with bands like Drowning Pool in his early years of fronting a metal band. At the same time\, he’s felt the calmness and serenity of driving through an Alabama cotton field by himself to play for nobody but the bartender. While this ebb and flow way of life might deter most\, he’s learned to find comfort in it. \nDon’t be fooled by his laid-back demeanor. Justin knows that talent is worthless without work-ethic\, and work-ethic can even overcome a lack of talent if you work hard enough. He sees it every day while working with his hands when he’s not on the road or in the studio\, and has experienced first-hand how sometimes just showing up can be the first step toward something great. \nIn the same vein as artists like the Turnpike Troubadours\, Tyler Childers\, and Jason Isbell\, Justin Kaleb brings an element of truth-telling\, blue-collar music that Americana music fans can surely get behind. Jump on board while you can\, because the train’s leaving the station. \n  \nSinger/Songwriter Russell Walker of Honky Tonk Thursday is playing as well!

SUMMARY:The WDVX Blue Plate Special – 4/16 — Huey / Shlomo Franklin
DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in Atlanta\, Ga.\, Huey’s songwriting is deeply in southern folk music. Since playing in various groups for the past 8 years\, most notably her own full band “Huey & The Heaven-sent”\, she’s always called the ATL music scene home. “[She] brings some diversity to what people perceive southern music to be” says Atwood Magazine\, following up the release of their second full-length LP “How to Keep Things Alive”. Heart-clenching and poignant lyrics\, married with folk\, sometimes even jazz\, melodies\, Huey’s songwriting reflects the emotions that she’s embedded in her music. Since becoming a solo artist\, she’s developed a side of the folk genre that sounds like nobody else. \n \nShlomo Franklin is an American singer/songwriter born on a small cow farm in upstate New York. Raised off the cultural grid\, without music\, television\, or radio\, his songs are strongly influenced by his cult-like religious upbringing. Shlomo released his debut album in 2019 which was produced by Grammy Award winner C Lanzbom and released a double album follow up from his now Nashville\, TN home. Franklin has opened up for Jakob Dylan and The Wallflowers and shared festivals with The Nude Party and The Bones of JR Jones. His songs seem just as comfortable in front of a crowd of two thousand as they are in a living room house concert. Shlomo sees himself as a bare bones troubadour and is stubbornly trendless. \n  \n

SUMMARY:The Blue Plate Special – 3/12 – Hunter Gatherer & Austin Skalecki / Jennifer Alvarado
DESCRIPTION:Hunter Gatherer is “a musical nomad\, unable to rest his head on one genre\, crossing borderlines between sunny americana\, grassy indie-folk and alt-country.” Joined by troubadour and fellow songwriter Austin Skalecki\, they have over 6 albums to their name\, and accompany one another\, sharing both the spotlight and sideman duties. They’re storytellers and gifted pickers in our own rite\, and also back each other on steel guitar and mandolin. \n  \nJennifer Alvarado is redefining what it means to be a country artist in today’s music scene. With a sound that fuses the heartfelt storytelling of 90s country with the raw\, unfiltered honesty of alternative rock\, her music has been described as “Deana Carter meets Alanis Morissette.” But Jennifer isn’t just another artist blending genres—she’s a truth-teller\, a fighter\, and a voice for those who have ever felt out of place. Her songs are unflinchingly personal\, yet universally relatable\, tackling love\, loss\, trauma\, and redemption with a fearless honesty that sets her apart. \nBorn and raised in Hickory\, North Carolina\, Alvarado’s love for music was sparked at the age of four when her grandfather first placed a guitar in her hands. Growing up\, she found her voice singing in church and school performances\, but a devastating loss and relentless bullying in middle school silenced her for years. While others saw her talent\, she struggled with crippling performance anxiety\, choosing instead to write in secret. It wasn’t until her mid-teens\, when she picked up the guitar again and began leading worship\, that she slowly reclaimed her confidence. \nAlvarado’s path to music wasn’t a straight shot. Despite earning a music scholarship\, she ultimately pursued a degree in Political Science and Family Ministries\, preparing for a future in law and ministry. She worked as an Intellectual Property Paralegal\, led worship at two churches\, and taught guitar and ukulele on the side. But music never stopped calling. In 2020\, facing a crossroads\, she decided to take a chance — submitting her music to Indie Star Radio. The response was immediate and overwhelming\, leading to her being named Country Artist of the Year in 2021. From that moment\, there was no turning back. \nSince then\, Jennifer has become one of the most relentless independent artists in country music\, performing over 200 shows a year across the country. She’s played legendary venues like The Viper Room\, intimate clubs on the California coast\, and countless stages across NC\, TN\, GA\, VA\, SC\, CT\, KY\, and TX. Her goal? To play all 50 states and bring her music to international audiences. While she’s been told she’s “not redneck enough” for country music and “too old” to chase a dream\, she refuses to let the industry define her. Instead\, she writes and sings on her own terms\, creating music that resonates with those searching for something deeper than another whiskey-soaked party anthem. \nBeyond the music\, Jennifer is deeply passionate about using her platform to make a difference. She is actively involved in Celebrate Recovery\, prison ministry\, and organizations supporting women overcoming addiction and homelessness. She volunteers at various local recovery based ministries in North Carolina\, Tennessee Oncology in Nashville\, and Meals on Wheels.  Jennifer Alvarado is more than a musician — she is a storyteller\, an advocate\, and proof that resilience and faith can carve out a space where none seemed to exist. She isn’t chasing fame or fortune. She’s chasing meaning\, moments\, and the chance to remind others that their voice\, their dreams\, and their stories matter.

SUMMARY:The Blue Plate Special – 3/5 – Cody Landress-Gibson / Will Wesley
DESCRIPTION:Cody Landress-Gibson will be performing! \nWill Wesley is a Country Rock and Americana artist. A storyteller whose sound blends a soulful edge with country rock energy into heartfelt storytelling. Born in Baker\, Louisiana\, Wesley was raised with a rebellious spirit and a love for music inspired by his father’s guitar. By age 15\, he was sneaking into bars to perform with a beat-up six-string and a fire that would soon define his music career. \nHe paved his path in the Baton Rouge blues scene\, performing and touring alongside with legendary figures. He served as Grady Champion’s Music Director for five years. His talent earned him two International Blues Challenge regional victories and a reputation as one of Louisiana’s fiercest young guitarists. \nBut Wesley’s journey took a turn when life’s hardships — including personal battles and deep loss — pushed him toward a new musical path. Drawing inspiration from artists like Hank Williams\, Marty Stuart\, Garth Brooks\, Jason Aldean\, and Eric Church\, he began merging his blues background with the modern energy of country rock and Americana. \nIn 2021\, Wesley released his breakthrough album\, “Both Sides Of The Tracks.” The record featured 17 original songs\, including “A New Kind of Blues” (feat. Kern Pratt)\, “Leah” (feat. Michael Cleveland)\, and “Attitude”\, which reached #1 on the Euro Academy of Country Music Charts in Milan\, Italy. The project marked his official crossover from blues prodigy to full-fledged country-rock and Americana artist. \nTragedy struck in January 2021\, when Wesley lost his brother Daniel Dale to a drug overdose — a loss that became the emotional core of his 2024 single “12 O’Clock in Texas\,” his most personal song to date. The single’s heartfelt storytelling and raw emotion struck a deep chord with fans around the world. \nWesley followed with “The Search” (2024) and his latest single\, “Bottom Of The Bottle” (October 2025) — a powerhouse track with a harder rock edge that’s rapidly gaining momentum and airplay. \nToday\, Wesley tours across the U.S.\, Europe\, and Southeast Asia\, performing everywhere from intimate listening rooms to international stages\, including the Switzerland International Country Music Hall of Fame and the Jackson\, Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. \nHe shared stages with many including Alabama\, RVSHVD\, Jason Boland & the Stragglers\, Redd Volkaert\, When In Rome\, Old Crow Medicine Show\, Scotty McCreery\, Hailey Whitters\, and shared international stages with Swiss Rockabilly Star – Florian Fox\, collaborating on Will’s singles\, “Wasted Again” and “Time’s Catching Up To Me.” \nIn recognition of his accomplishments\, he received seven nominations for his song\, “Ready To Ride” at the 2024 Josie Music Awards. In addition\, he received five nominations for his songs “12 O’Clock in Texas” and “The Search” at the 2025 Josie Music Awards. Both within Nashville\, Tennessee. \nDespite the road miles as a devoted Worldwide Touring Troubadour\, Wesley returns home to Louisiana in-between tours for hometown shows\, staying true to his roots and fans. Known for his humility and heart\, he continues to give back by performing at Veterans’ events and outreach programs — bringing the healing power of music to those who need it most. \n
