A Song & A Sip – Barstool Romeos

The Barstool Romeos are a honky-tonk rock and roll band that claims Knoxville as their home. We’re excited to have them as part of the lineup for the WDVX | Ijams Meadow Lark Music Festival and we hope you’ll come out and enjoy the festival on June 25th.

Tickets will be $25 through June 24th and $35 at the gate (Children 10 & under are free). You can Click HERE to purchase your tickets today! Plus, we’ve also got some special VIP tickets which include prime parking, beer tickets, speedy check-in, and more!

We think you’ll enjoy this video, for the track “Dreams,” because it evokes something that just feels like summertime. There’s nothing better than good music, enjoyed outside in the summer, surrounded by the beauty of nature. And on June 25th, when you come to Meadow Lark Music Festival, you’ll get to experience that firsthand.

This is the latest in our blog series, A Song & A Sip, brought to you in part from our friends at Sugarlands Distilling Company. Each week, they share a great drink recipe as part of their #WhatToDrinkWednesday, and we thought it would be fun to pair the drinks with an amazing music performance.

The tunes of the Barstool Romeos create a perfect soundtrack for your summer. And if you need a refreshing summer drink to enjoy, try this week’s Sip, which incorporates some of summer’s bounty: fresh blackberries, strawberries and raspberries.

Mix up a batch of these daiquiris and crank up the Barstool Romeos!

1 oz Sugarlands Silver Cloud Moonshine

1 oz Sugarlands Blockader’s Blackberry Moonshine

2 oz Strawberry Puree

1/2 cup of Blackberries

1/2 cup of Raspberries

2 scoops of Ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend well and pour into Hurricane glass. Garnish with three berries on a spear.

Volunteer Opportunities at WDVX | Ijams Meadow Lark Music Festival!

Meadow Lark Music Festival is fun, but volunteering is even more fun!

When: Saturday, June 25 (noon-11 pm)
Where: Ijams Nature Center

Take a look at the volunteer positions that are available & send an email to volunteers@wdvx.com if you’re interested in helping out!

Security  –

This position is basically just sitting in a chair at the top of the hill making sure no one enters the festival without a wristband. We’re scheduling three people at a time for this position so that you can trade off & take a break during your shift. You will have a full view of the festival and all of the music from this position. If working the last shift you may be asked to help clean up the lawn after your shift.

Shifts are from 12-4, 4-8, and 8-11.

Beer Tickets –

This position will work in a team of four to sell beer tickets & water. You will be expected to make change and use an iPad to handle these transactions. You will not have to check IDs. Anyone who is 21+ will receive a special wristband at the gate when they check-in. You may have to stand for extended periods of time. The first shift will help set-up the booth and the last shift will help break it down.

Shift is from 7-11. (pm)

Beer Service –

This position requires a lot of standing, and not much time to take a break. Please keep this in mind. Volunteers who handle beer service will need to check for wristbands, take beer tickets, and serve beer. We may have some beer in cans, but for the most part it will be on draft. This is a fast paced position, but certainly a fun one.

Shift is from 7-11 (pm)
