Tony was raised in the mountains of Campbell County, Tenn., and has been in professional broadcasting since 1978. 

Since its inception, Tony has been WDVX's sole General Manager and Program Director.  He has led WDVX from its operations in a small, donated camper in rural Anderson County to its present location in downtown Knoxville on the strength of his belief in tradition and the power of live radio broadcast.  Among his many duties, Tony works with the Board of Directors on policy development and implementation, acts as the spokesperson for the radio station, directs air staff in programming matters and scheduling and develops and maintains station format.

Tony is an oft-consulted authority on bluegrass and Americana music, on independent radio and on the culture and history of East Tennessee.
