You're out on "The Fringe" on East Tennessee's own WDVX !

In many ways it seems like only yesterday that I turned on the microphone for the first time and I froze!! I opened my mouth and nothing came out. In fact, it was in 2001 when I started filling in for my musical sweetheart Michael Flannagan. I started doing the overnights as a shift DJ in 2002. I love all music, but must admit that alt. country is my forte, and first love. So, for the past several years I've been a volunteer doing "The Fringe" every Saturday night from 10 PM 'til midnight. I alternate weeks with Wayne Bledsoe doing "All Over The Road" from midnight until 4 AM.

I love WDVX. I love the concept and idea of WDVX. To me, and, I feel I can speak for many other people safely, that there isn't a better station, nor will there ever be. You'll never hear a better variety of music anywhere else. With the regular programming being so diverse, that alone is amazing, but also you have the specialty shows, such as "The Fringe", "Johnny Mack's Friday Night Blues Attack" etc. What makes this so unique is these shows have their own DJ/program directors. That is a huge privilege and honor, Tony Lawson is a true visionary. And in my opinion, also the best DJ at the station. For his great vision, I couldn't admire anyone as much as I do him. Being both DJ/program director, I spend countless hours weekly listening to music so that I can spin something new and different for my listeners, and they appreciate and love that. And I love and appreciate all of them. Not to mention the countless hours at used CD stores, yard sales, pawn shops, you name it, I'm looking for music. Many of the record labels do supply me with music, and I'm so very thankful to all of them. The ones that don't, I have to purchase. Everything I play is my own collection, I don't have access to the regular station music, since I do my shows from our Anderson Co. studio. My paying job keeps me very busy, I work long hours. I love my work being a nurse, so I feel very blessed. I have my wonderful daughter and my grandson Waylon, he's the light of my life. I have my music, it's my bliss, peace, and love....well it's my everything.

Many of my regular listeners also send me music that they have discovered, and I'm so grateful for that also. I'm always open to suggestions. And I love to hear from you guys out there! So please feel free to contact me. Of course, therein lies the BIG problem. The Anderson Co. studio has no e-mail, or even a computer. Which leaves my home mail. I decided several years ago, I'd had enough of the city life, I found a little farm in Anderson Co. and I love it here so much. It does however come with a few drawbacks. All I have access to is very slow dial up Internet connection. And folks I do mean slow! I connect, if I'm lucky, at 4400 kps, yes, I'm serious. Most pages won't load, the ones that do take about 4 to 5 min. each. So, if I don't get right back with you, please don't be offended, I will get back to you, and please don't read this and change your mind about dropping me a line, I really do love hearing all your thoughts, music ideas, and of course requests. Just be patient please.

I thank all of you wonderful listeners that have supported "The Fringe" and "All Over The Road". Your support keeps WDVX going. And keeps all the diversity alive. Folks, it ours, all of ours, and has something for each of us. These days, that's very rare.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening, whether this is your first time, or you're one of the many friends I've met through the years. And just like I always tell ya, I love you all!

I wish you all....love, peace and music.
